In an announcement made officially on Jan-15-2020, H.R.H. Prince Vittorio Emanuele, made some important decisions regarding the life of the House of Savoia.
By signing two resolutions, H.R.H. Prince Vittorio Emanuele decided to adapt the Law of Succession of the House of Savoia. Through these provisions, the Royal House of Savoia will adopt the rule of absolute primogeniture*, which will be applied from now on to direct descendants, with lineage prevailing over degree. This rule is already applied by the majority of Royal Houses. The Canadian Delegation of the Dynastic Orders of the Royal House of Savoia extends their warmest congratulations to the newly invested Knights and Dames of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta. The national investiture took place at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa.
